Altar Guild – an act and anchor for worship
How lovely is your dwelling place, oh Lord of hosts...happy are those who live in your house, ever singing your praise (Psalm 84: 1,4).
The ministry of the Altar Guild is an act of -- and anchor for -- worship. The Altar Guild "clothes" the church throughout the seasons and stages of life, preparing the church for each service, from evening services to baptisms to weddings to remembrance services.
Following a tradition rich in history, the Guild weaves the old with the new, transforming family heirlooms into cloths and vestments that honor and continue this important legacy. The work of the Altar Guild is not confined to the walls of the church, but rather extends out into the community by ensuring that altar flowers are delivered to people who are in the hospital or are homebound.
Eucharistic Ministers – bringing the church to the community
Eucharistic ministers offer the consecrated elements at Holy Communion to worshipers who come forward to receive the bread and wine and celebrate the Eucharist. From teenagers to adults, all are welcome to inquire about serving in this important ministry.
Acolytes – serving at God’s table
The ministry of acolyte is a serving ministry of the Church that comes from ancient times. From those days until now acolytes have been faithful and conscientious men, women, boys and girls, who love the Lord Jesus Christ and love serving Him at his sacred altar. It is an honor to be selected as one who serves, and, truly a ministry to God and God’s people. The Acolytes vest (put on robes), light the candles on the altar, lead the procession into the church at the beginning of the service, and assist the clergy in preparing the altar for communion. At special services, acolytes light extra candles and sometimes serve as thurifer, swinging the censer. At the end of the service, acolytes lead the procession out of the church and extinguish the candles. Children (3rd grade and above) and adults are welcome to serve as acolytes.
Lectors – voice witness to the living Word
Lectors prepare the readings of Holy Scripture for worship and pray with the congregation. Their voices bear witness to the living Word of Christ, and their prayers give voice to the needs and concerns of worshipers.
Greeters – serve with a smile and invitation
Greeters are those people who welcome guests, visitors and members at the doors of our church. Greeters serve with a smile, a handshake and an invitation to join the inclusive embrace that defines the community of Christ Church.
Ushers – help all experience God's revelation
Typically the first point of contact for people coming into Christ Church for Sunday worship, the ushers share a special ministry devoted to welcoming all people into the sanctuary. From handing out programs to collecting the gifts of the people, to guiding parishioners to the communion table, to managing the sound system, the ushers ensure that the worship service flows smoothly without distraction or interruption so that all may experience God's touch, revelation and peace.

Hospitality – gathering around food in the name of Christ
We are a community that recognizes and celebrates the truth that when we gather around food, we are offering each other hospitality in the name of Christ. Hospitality is offered after Sunday services.
